homemade lino stamp

Simple it may seem but I got this all wrong on my first attempt.  This is how to do a lino print.
1) You will need lino, sharpie and lino tools
2) With the sharpie draw on the design.
If you are doing letters you will need to mirror them.
3) With the lino tool go round the sharpie lines.
The area you want to leave as the paper colour.
4) Using the lino tool cut out the are between the letters.
You can do the spaces in the middle of letters,
but as mine is quite small I left it out.

5) Using a craft knife cut lino to size if you need to.
Before this I roughly cut away the area around the printing surface.
This gave me the rough idea of how big it would be.

6) Again with the lino tool clear away the cut area to the edge of
the piece of lino.
